联系 Dr. Dustin Ranglack, Assistant Professor, Department of Biology, for information if you are conducting research using animals, or complete the Institutional Animal Care and Use form.
IACUC members and faculty working with vertebrate animals in research must complete 花旗 training.
To register with 花旗, follow these steps:
Learner groups are organized to give each researcher the most relevant information while respecting the use of their time. Required modules have been established for each group, as well as optional modules that can be selected according to the specific research project.
From the 花旗 Program site, select “Courses” and then “Animal Care and Use (ACU).”
教师 should select the course that best matches their area of research. 教师 working with animals in a laboratory setting should choose the appropriate course under “Additional Courses” while faculty working with wildlife should choose “Wildlife Research” from the “Basic Courses” list. IACUC training must be renewed every 5 years.
学生 working with faculty on approved IACUC protocols must complete the “Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR)” basic course. There are no 花旗 courses specific for students working with animals in research; therefore, faculty bear the responsibility of supervising students when carrying out research involving vertebrate animal subjects.
Most IACUC members must complete the “Essentials for IACUC Members” course. The Community Member of the IACUC should instead complete the “IACUC Community Member” course. IACUC members must renew their IACUC specific training every 5 years by taking the appropriate refresher course.
